The Department of Science Education had five newly approved programmes by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2019, after which, academic activities commenced fully for the 2019/2020 session. Maintaining the focus of the University, our vision is to be the Department of choice on the African continent for:
• Training prospective science educators equipped with cutting edge technologies for exhibiting and promoting 21st-century skills during instructional practices.
• Producing competent learners pursuing excellence and innovation in teaching, research and service in a diverse environment.
Our mission is to create, disseminate, and apply scientific knowledge through innovative teaching and learning experiences. We aim at training students to become graduates with an optimistic vision and commitment for the advancement of the nation educationally, by laying a solid foundation for a reliable manpower base in the education sector.
Programmes
Our programmes are designed to offer students opportunity for employment in the education industry and to equally prepare them for post graduate studies. These curricular are prepared in consonant with NUC Benchmark for undergraduate programmes. Interested and qualified candidates can apply for admission into any of the available programmes.
