Head of Department's Welcome Address
I welcome you to the Department of Business Administration, in the Faculty of Humanities, Social and Management Sciences (FHSM), Anchor University. The department is poised to contribute to the growth and development of the society and the nation, especially the development of trade globally.
The activities will be done by direct student activities to play an active role in social activities, lecturer and institutional activities in supporting the endeavours of the business profession and its support for the development of business practices in the country and round the globe.
The curriculum of the Department of Business Administration is designed to prepare students to be self-reliant and for specialised professional studies. These curriculum leads to the award of honours degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the end of four or three years of study in the university. The programme is so designed to provide solid academic background knowledge for higher degrees if so desired.
PROFILE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The Department of Business Administration is one of the 15 pioneer academic Departments in the University and one of the 5 departments in the Faculty of Humanites, Social and Management Sciences (FHSMS), that commenced academic programme on the 1st of February, 2017.
Currently, the academic staff strength is enriched with seasoned Professors and researchers of Business Administration, Marketing, etc. and senior cadre lecturers are spread in all areas of Business Administration. Some of the areas students are exposed to include: Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, Operations Management and Business Analytics, Marketing, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations Management, and Organizational Behaviour.
The B.Sc. Business Administration is the foundational programme of the department while other related programmes such as B.Sc. Entrepreneurship Studies, Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Professional Master in Business Administration (MBA), Academic Master in Business Administration (M.Sc. Business Administration) and the degree of Doctor of philosophy in Business Administration will soon start.
The Department has industrial links with some corporate firms in and around Lagos State for exposing her students to industry experience during their studies in Anchor University. It is noteworthy to state that the Entrepreneurship Development Programme of the University is domiciled in the Department of Business Administration.
