WHY STUDY MASS COMMUNICATION IN ANCHOR UNIVERSITY?

We are aware that Mass Communication is a course available in many universities. So, it is appropriate to ask: what makes Anchor University a special place to study Mass Communication?

Ours is a place where lecturers don’t just teach, but labour as life coaches, school-parents and mentors to produce world class communicators grounded in the character and courage necessary for excellence in our present world, a world characterised by shifting values. To make our graduates marketable, we have designed our courses to address the needs of today’s digital economy. And just five years from our commencement, our students are already bringing back testimonies of excellence and employers’ commendations from different organisations where they worked as interns.

The importance of Mass Communication, as a course, cannot be overstated. At Anchor University, it is designed to place graduates at the cutting edge of communication innovation and competence. Aside from Print Journalism and Broadcasting, which are commonly known to people, the course equally prepares our graduates for the practice of Public Relations, E-Publishing, Advertising, Social Media Communications and Cinematography, among other areas of specialisation. Virtually all organisations (whether media houses, oil companies, banks, manufacturers or government agencies) have need of Mass Communicators, and the entrepreneurship content of our courses is second to none. For this reason, we maintain manageable class sizes in order to pay adequate attention to each student, including those with special needs.

Our pedigree of being founded by Pastor (Dr.) Kumuyi W. F., who is a stickler for excellence, compels us to give only the best as we are determined to fulfil the mandate given by our Chancellor, Council, Board of Trustees and regulatory authorities. We are, therefore, leaving no stone unturned to position our students for global digital engagements with skills and knowledge for the twenty-first century economy.

We, therefore, invite you to come on board for a ride into a bright future. We anchor our knowledge delivery on three pillars: character-moulding, impartation of winning values and acquisition of skill and knowledge for the competence necessary for the development our nation needs now. And our promise is that these qualities will be imparted to you as you come on board.

Thank you and welcome.
