Every newly admitted student and newly hired staff member must undergo a mandatory medical registration and clearance process at the University Health Centre. This process ensures you are medically fit for campus life, protects the university community from infectious diseases, and establishes your official clinical record for future medical care.
Completion of mandatory laboratory tests at the main clinic.
A comprehensive physical assessment conducted by an authorised university medical officer to evaluate overall fitness.
Before undergoing the required Drug of Abuse screening, all students are legally required to fill out and sign an Indemnity Form. This serves as your official consent for sample collection, testing, and the secure processing of laboratory results.
The entire medical clearance process must be completed within 2 weeks of resumption.
Failure to complete this screening within the two-week window will debar a student from completing registration. Non-compliant students will not be issued an official matriculation number.
Leaving this screening uncompleted blocks your final clearance at graduation.
Many health conditions may remain unnoticed until complications develop. Anchor University Health Services therefore promotes appropriate screening and early identification of health risks through activities such as:
A healthy university community must care for both the body and the mind. Our goal is to encourage an environment where seeking help is viewed as responsible health behaviour, not weakness.
The University Health Centre offers a safe, welcoming, and entirely confidential environment where students and staff can access dedicated mental health resources, including professional one-on-one counselling, crisis intervention for psychological distress, substance use guidance, and campus-wide wellness workshops.
At Anchor University Health Services, we believe that healthcare should not begin only when illness occurs. It should begin with knowledge. It should continue with prevention. It should be strengthened by healthy choices. And it should ultimately produce a healthier, stronger and more productive university community.
Our Health Education and Wellness Programme is a proactive university-wide initiative designed to empower students, academic staff, non-teaching staff and other members of the university community with the knowledge, skills and support needed to take responsibility for their health and wellbeing.
We are committed to moving beyond a “treat-and-go” approach to healthcare by building a culture in which prevention, early detection, healthy living, responsible medicine use, mental wellbeing and timely access to professional care become part of everyday university life.
Anchor University Health Services is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An ambulance is available 24/7 for emergency response.
