About this programme
The Faculty of Law runs a single undergraduate programme, the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), through the Department of Private and Property Law and the Department of Public Law. The LL.B. programme provides students with a broad foundation in legal knowledge, professional ethics, critical thinking and practical lawyering skills.
The standard programme is five years for students admitted through the regular entry route. Successful Direct Entry candidates are admitted into 200 Level and complete the programme in four years.
Practical training is an important component of the programme. Students gain experience through the Faculty's Law Clinic, Moot Court, legal outreach activities, professional and court visits, conferences, workshops and sensitisation programmes, and internship and professional placement opportunities.
The Faculty currently does not offer postgraduate programmes.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum age of 16 years at the time of admission; Diploma and JUPEB applicants may apply from age 14.
- Minimum of five credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO, or equivalent in not more than two sittings.
- Credits must include English Language and Mathematics, except for Humanities and Law programmes where Mathematics may not be compulsory.
- UTME candidates must obtain an acceptable JAMB score and satisfy Anchor University's Post-UTME screening.
- Direct Entry candidates require the relevant five O Level credits plus at least two Advanced Level passes or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the University.
Programme requirement: Five credit passes at SSCE or equivalent in English, Literature in English, and three other relevant arts or social science subjects.
JAMB subjects: English, Literature in English, and any two arts subjects.
